I will admit, as excellent as EW was and how well they stuck the landing, I'm still really nervous about the next steps. It almost felt like the devs were pretty plainly giving us leads on what we could be getting ready to face soon.
#Ffxiv nidhogg scale how to
The first and most obvious would be the other shards (which a certain community favorite character explicitly stated she's looking into how to travel to them with her free time), and then there's the other planets that have had life on them in the past and will soon again see life on them - it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that we end up helping these fledgling worlds fight against threats.Īlso, I do want to point out that Emet explicitly gave a list of things we know nothing about just on our world alone. However, there are some loose ends hanging out there. If that's the case then the sky (and beyond aparently), is the limit. The team could be putting forward an entirely new narrative and put down all of the lore from ARR to EW. I was fine with going from beating multiple demon lords and titans in WoW to going back to fighting footsoldiers in a war. I'm fine with going back to fighting poachers and stuff. And then there is the Endsinger, which was made up all of the Dynamis in the universe or something, and again the WoL beats it unassisted (well, except for Shinryu providing a platform to stand on).

Yes, Zodiark was just 8/14 when the WoL fights him, but that's still a tremendous amount of aether and probably makes him even more powerful than Shinryu. And with Elidibus, you didn't really beat him you fended him off long enough for him to get nuked by the tower (why didn't G'raha do that from the beginning?).īut fighting Zodiark and the Endsinger? Zodiark was made up the sacrifices of who knows how many hundreds or thousands of 14/14 unsundered. The WoL "beating" Hades in ShB is plausible because you can make an argument for whether or not Hades was content with allowing himself to lose and was committing suicide by cop. And then Shadowbringers reveals that the dragons are unsundered beings, which means that a puny 8/14 WoL somehow managed to effectively fight an unsundered 14/14 Wyrm of the First Brood tier dragon that had both eyes, with zero assistance whatsoever. In Stormblood, it gets wonky because then you fight Shinryu, which had the two eyes of Nidhogg, but you kill it without being empowered by anything. Then you fought a 2 eyed Nidhogg while being empowered by the eye of Hraesvelgr. In HW, you fended off Nidhogg while Estinien gouged his eye out. And then you would've been turned to dust had divine intervention not shielded you again from the Ultima spell. It took divine intervention to strip the UW of the Primals to allow you to attack it. And then your attacks didn't scratch the Ultima Weapon at all. You only stood a chance against the Primals because you could resist their tempering. The powerlevels have been wonky since Stormblood and especially Shadowbringers. We still have Pandaemonium to deal with after all. Maybe I'm going down the wrong rabbit hole and it wont happen that way. I certainly don't want too see the story go down the line of DBZ with ever increasing scales of cosmic power being thrown around. Along with two of the most powerful primals to ever exist. I'm just wondering how others think they will go forward? I mean we defeated a cosmic terror and a literal monster of a man power scale wise. Could that be an avenue for lowering our character power narratively? So by accepting that battle, channeling so much Dynamis, and being left on the brink of death. Where he came to the decision to use up his life's candle on this fight, and how we don't waste ours on pointless fights. And then brings it up again at the end fight.

He mentioned his life's candle in Garlemald when he talked to our character. But do you guys think going forward with the story for 6.1+, they will try and lower our "power level" so to speak? I'm mainly thinking about the whole Zeno's fight and his dialogue at the end. This is just some speculation on my part. Just moving my original post from the mega thread to here.
